Be Cherished, the newest salon in Ashland, opened it’s doors on September 1, 2010. Before you say it, I know what you’re thinking – another salon in Ashland? Yep, but this one isn’t just a salon….
Be Cherished is an Aveda Salon & Retail Store store founded by Susan Zastoupil. Featuring expert hair design and color, natural skin and nail care, massage and the full line of Aveda products. This partnership between Be Cherished and Aveda proves to be perfect – both are committed to providing personal care and beauty products that are good for you and the environment.
Until a few weeks ago, there was only one Aveda salon in Ashland, the Phoenix Day Spa (the Phoenix recently closed) I met Susan at the Phoenix a few years ago and lost track of her when she moved on to open Be Cherished (you can imagine my excitement when I found her again!) You will find Be Cherished on East Main St in Downtown Ashland (across from Evo’s)
Be Cherished offers a full menu of services. Whether you are there for a cut, massage, wax, nail care or skin care… your visit to Be Cherished begins with a hot cup of Aveda’s organic restorative tea.
I was most recently there for a hair cut, which includes a head massage (my favorite part) using Aveda’s organic essential oil of choice. Not to sway you here but a mint oil head massage on a Friday afternoon, followed by a fantastic hair cut?! I knew I had the makings of a relaxing weekend!
Susan Zastoupil is the same fabulous stylist who was voted Favorite Stylist in Ashland in 2009. If you have been to her or ever wanted to – now is your perfect chance!
Be Cherished asks you turn off your cell phone and make arrangements for your children during your appointment. This is a fabulous thing (it sounds hard, but I did!) resulting in a spa like setting for the price of a salon!
541Live Tip: This is what I love about Susan – she doesn’t accept tips while I’m there for my haircut. You’ll love the reason! She wants me (& all of her clients) to spend that money on cherishing myself. I’ve chosen something special each time… because of this funny tip thing, I’ve been able to buy a special hair product, sparkly nail polish and a new Aveda face wash.
